It doesn't do you much good if you can hit a pitch, with a swing that has no power behind it.That's not going to take you very far in baseball. It will feel very good, and it will be more accurate. What does it get you?
There's a chance you'll hit a few long home runs when you happen to catch the pitch on your bat's sweet spot. Isn't that the goal of hitting? We think so.
So, the next step is obviously to consider how you might go about achieving this in our swing. Think about building a house--you need to start from the ground up. Your swing will come to you without even having to think about it. It should just happen, like putting your hand out when you fall down. You might be thinking, "That sounds great, but easier said than done." Well, it's not that hard at all.
Identify the different phases of a great swing, and then master them. With enough practice, it starts to take shape as a truly powerful weapon.
